Carved and Jewelled Ivory Hound

An important carved ivory dog, from the estate of  “Baron Alexis de Redé”.

Given to the Baron by the American businessman “Arturo Lopez-Willshaw” it is jeweled with 8 rubies 14 sapphires and a diamond,  all set in gold.  The band,  in the form of a buckle is also fashioned from solid gold and engraved “Arturo Lopez-Willshaw”. 

The cane is pictured in the personal collection of the Baron,  in his Paris residence, the Hotel lambert. The hotel is situated on the isle de St. Louis on the Seine and was later bought in its entirety by the Baron and Baron Guy de Rothschild
