A wonderful mid scale ivory skull, well carved and with the inclusion of the top two vertebrae, fierce expression and open jaw the detail is great. The skull is signed amusingly “Caput Mortuum” Latin for “Dead Head” the ivory top sits on an ebonised  shaft with metal ferrule. This is a very good example of a classic mid 19th Century Stick.
