Lamp Lighters Cane
Date: 1870
Country: English
What looks like an ordinary ivory topped Malacca is actually a rare system stick. The crop handle in ivory and decorated with a faux stitch to its underside unscrews from the shaft. Inside is an ornate brass taper lighter which would have been used to light the gas lamps of the time. Possibly of ecclesiastical origin. The cane is a Malacca with a two part metal ferrule.
