A well carved wooden pointer  in the English manner, with a wistful expression and spring loaded jaw.  The dogs jaw was opened to allow a pair of light gloves to be held when the hands were needed to be ungloved.  The top is silver mounted with the band representing the dogs collar. The cane itself is a full bark Malacca with metal ferrule.
