A very well carved bamboo cane where the carvers art can clearly be seen. The whole cane is covered with a scene of the wonderment of life from Japanese folk lore. There are two people deep in thought representing the importance of our time here, they are carved as if to be in a naturally sheltered place (a cave) representing the Earth and have applied ivory faces to convey their expressions. The handle is the root ball of the bamboo cane.
